Lymphatic drainage differs from a regular massage in both technique and purpose. While traditional massage often focuses on relieving muscle tension through deep pressure, lymphatic drainage uses gentle, rhythmic strokes to enhance the flow of lymph fluid throughout the body. This type of massage is particularly beneficial for reducing swelling, detoxifying the body, and supporting the immune system. It’s often used for specific conditions likeedema, post-surgery recovery, and chronic inflammation.

Lymphatic drainage massage helps to enhance the body’s natural lymphatic flow, which plays a crucial role in detoxification, boosting immune function, and reducing inflammation. This gentle, rhythmic massage technique supports overall well-being by promoting the removal of toxins, reducing fluid retention, and improving circulation. It can be particularly beneficial for those recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions, or seeking to improve their overall health and vitality.

Massage therapy can be highly effective in managing TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) dysfunction. Through targeted techniques that address both the external and internal muscles of the jaw, neck, and head, massage therapy can help reduce pain, improve jaw mobility, and alleviate symptoms such as headaches and jaw clicking. Specialized treatments, such as intra-oral massage, are often employed to directly work on the muscles involved in TMJ dysfunction, providing relief and improving function.

Massage therapy, particularly lymphatic drainage, is highly beneficial in supporting post-surgery recovery. Lymphatic drainage helps reduce swelling, manage fibrosis, and promote relaxation, aiding in a smoother recovery process. It enhances lymphatic flow and tissue health, which are essential for reducing post-operative complications and improving the overall healing process. Whether you are recovering from cosmetic surgery, joint replacement, or other procedures, tailored massage therapy can help optimize your recovery.

Your first massage therapy session begins with an intake form filled out before your arrival, focusing on your health history and personal requirements. At the clinic, a warm welcome is followed by an interview to gather more insights about your unique conditions. This leads into a thorough assessment, which can include palpation, range of motion or orthopedic testing. The massage, incorporating various techniques and pressures, is meticulously adapted to suit your individual preferences. After your session, you'll receive comprehensive aftercare advice, such as targeted stretches and exercises, to continue benefiting from the treatment.
-
The frequency of massage therapy sessions varies based on individual needs and circumstances. For acute injuries, weekly sessions might be beneficial, while monthly sessions could be more appropriate for chronic conditions. Those seeking relaxation might opt for massage therapy once a week or every few weeks, depending on their stress levels. Ultimately, the best schedule for massage therapy is one that aligns with your specific requirements and provides the most benefit to your health and well-being.

To ensure smooth scheduling for everyone, I ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. The best way to do this is online, allowing waitlist clients enough time to book your spot. If you cancel outside business hours without using the online system, it may prevent waitlist clients from receiving timely notice.
Emergencies are understood and handled on a case-by-case basis. Please email me for short notice cancellations.
*Please be aware that not providing the necessary notice may result in being charged the full session fee.*
